Ask any karaoke DJ (or KJ as we’re also known) and every one will tell you they could easily go their entire lives without hearing ten or so drunk kids attempt to navigate their way through Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin.’” It’s one of the most popular karaoke songs in every city, at every karaoke joint I’ve ever been to or worked for. How do I know this?: I’ve been a bartender in some regard for a decade, and have hosted karaoke for about four years now. I’ve also been known to occasionally lie and say we don’t even have the song, or charge people to sing it. Well, I never said I wasn’t an asshole. Instead, for your consideration; five Journey songs that are vastly superior, and won’t make every KJ and bartender automatically roll their eyes at you. Yea, they’re not all easy to sing, but unless you’ve ever been the lead singer of Journey, no Journey song is easy to sing. (In no certain order)
